What is Cosmetic Dentistry?

Cosmetic dentistry is a collection of procedures designed to improve the appearance of your smile. Our expert team provides treatment options with both restorative and aesthetic benefits. With advanced technology such as panoramic x-rays, i-CAT™ digital imaging, intraoral cameras, and the Biolase® dental laser, your cosmetic treatments can be done more effectively and more economically. Whether you’re struggling with unwanted gaps, stains, chips, or cavities, we can create a treatment plan that fits your lifestyle and your budget.

The Building Blocks of Cosmetic Dentistry

Most cosmetic treatments will start with one of three treatments; bonding, fillings, or crowns. The severity of decay, trauma, or aesthetic concern will determine which treatment is appropriate. Our HB Dental team is very skilled at diagnosing and treating a variety of conditions and providing you with the information you need to make an informed decision about your care.

Cosmetic Bonding: This is the least expensive and minimally invasive option for repairing small chips, cracks, or enamel defects. We use a natural-colored composite material to carefully fill in affected areas and artistically create a tooth that looks and feels natural.

Composite Fillings: Although we offer both metal and composite fillings, only the composite material works for aesthetic repairs. These fillings are especially useful for repairing areas that are highly visible when you smile. Small to medium areas of decay can be fixed quickly and easily and help prevent further damage.

Inlays & Onlays: When the damage is too large for a filling, but not big enough to need a crown, an inlay or onlay can provide the perfect solution. These prosthetics are digitally designed and fabricated out of durable composite material. After we remove the decay or damage, we will place the restoration and fix it with a strong adhesive so it will look great and last for many years.

Porcelain Crowns: If a tooth is cracked, broken, or has a large area of decay, a crown can cover and protect it down to the gum line. Crowns are incredibly versatile and used for many different cosmetic and restorative treatments. They are used on their own to repair a single tooth, combined in a bridge to replace one to three teeth and provide the finishing touch for root canal therapy or a dental implant.

Improve Your Smile with Custom Dental Veneers

As opposed to crowns that cover the entire tooth, veneers are thin coverings that are designed to cover only the front surface. Each veneer is shaped to compliment your smile and to disguise imperfections. They can cover stains, chips, and cracks, as well as correct crooked teeth and uneven spacing.

The two most common veneers available are composite and porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are known for their durability, natural appearance, and flexibility. Veneers only require minimal removal of your original enamel to fit properly, and they can last for many years with proper care.

Opalescence In-Office and Take-Home Whitening Treatments

There are many different options available to whiten your teeth, but HB Dental offers you two great professional-grade options. Opalescence whitening gels are tough on stains and gentle on your teeth. You can receive treatment in-office or at home using a custom tray with professional-grade whitening gel. We help you choose the right concentration of gel and give you detailed instructions on how to get the best results.

The safest bleaching treatment is available in our office with a dental professional guiding your treatment for optimal results. If time is a significant factor, the at-home option can help you get ready for a job interview or a big social event. Whichever treatment method you choose, we can provide you with the details and information you need to achieve a bright smile you will love!

Cosmetic Laser Gum Contouring

To improve the balance between your gums and your teeth, we offer several laser gum contouring procedures. Using advanced laser technology, we can reshape your gums, treat periodontal infections, perform a frenectomy, and remove lesions. Our laser uses beams of light and water to achieve stunning results in less time and more efficiently. You can receive many gum treatments with minimal bleeding and significantly faster recovery time. Our experienced and skilled team will provide you with all the information you need to decide if laser gum contouring is the best option for your cosmetic dentistry goals.

Options for Replacing Missing Teeth

Missing teeth can affect your self-confidence and be detrimental to your overall oral health. The roots of your teeth fulfill an essential role by stimulating the ligaments, bone, and other surrounding tissues to regenerate new cells and encourage optimal oral health. Healthy teeth can drift towards an unwanted gap and cause alignment problems that require additional treatment. To promote a healthy, beautiful smile, HB Dental offers several effective ways to replace missing teeth, including:

Bridges: Used to replace up to three teeth in a row, a bridge consists of crowns attached to two healthy teeth with a prosthetic tooth suspended between them. This method can restore form and function and prevent neighboring teeth from shifting out of alignment.

Dentures & Partials: A denture is a removable device with prosthetic attachments and a smooth lining that fits against your gums. Full or partial dentures can give you back a confident smile and restore function for proper chewing and speaking ability.

Dental Implants: A biocompatible titanium post is surgically placed into the jaw with a custom crown on top. An implant not only improves the look of your smile, but it also helps you maintain optimal oral health because it functions like a natural tooth. It provides essential stimulation to the jawbone and helps preserve a youthful facial appearance.
